Utah Fall Break

Gerrit earned another 1 second break from school after his 3rd semester.  It's been a full year since we have been in Utah!  This trip started with just Gerrit going to hang out, but when we heard Adrian was getting hitched the weekend after it turned into a family getaway.  This was the last break Gerrit will get while he finishes his last 16 months of CRNA school.  It was a much needed vacation for him.  He was able to do lots of fun things with all his buddies.  I was able to hang out with some of my friends and most of all Grandma and Grandpa got to see their "girls".  This was the first time they have met Alice!  Here is some of our trip in Photos

Thursday
Our flight went really well.  We had 2 stops but didn't get off the plane.  I didn't realize this before hand, so I only packed snacks.  Luckily they let me leave the plane and get the family some lunch.  Thank goodness for iPhones and iPods.  Danny picked us up from the airport and took us straight to Del Taco.  It was hard for us to find a ride home from the airport since our family is giant now and won't fit in any old car.  So thanks to Danny

Friday

Gerrit went to the lake with the boys (and took Chloë surfing) and then went camping.  I got to hang with Grandma and the girls and hit up In-n-Out and See's Candy.  MMMMM

Saturday

In the morning Chloë and Delilah watered the flowers with Grandma and Grandpa.  Grandpa has been talking about doing that for weeks.  They also enjoyed being Cinderella's sweeping the porch.  Grandma kept saying "get to work" in a fairytale voice.  Later we met up with Scrub and Ryan to eat at Cafe Rio.  Then we went to see their place and met the animals (Dog and Cat).  It was fun to hang with the engaged couple.  Then we headed to Summer and Drew's house for some chit chat, playtime and to get my hair done.

Sunday

We watched conference in the morning and then went to the canyon with Grandpa. He loves the drive and the mountains, but most of all he loves watching the girls explore and throw rocks.  After our canyon afternoon we went to the Keller's house for a friend BBQ.  We sure miss our friends.  The kids had a great time together.

Monday

Before we moved we took Janell and Dan to Hogle Zoo with us.  Dan thought it was so great, so he wanted us to all go again when we came to visit.  Monday we spent the day at the zoo and had a fun BBQ at Gordon's house.  It was a fun day in SLC.

 While we were looking at the tigers one decided to jump in and go for a swim!  It was seriously cool.  We were so close to them.

 

Tuesday

We visited Christian and Buffy and met new baby Nora.  Then we met Grandma at the always loved Pumpkin Land!  Janell takes us every year.  Glad we could make it this year.

Wednesday

I was able to hang with Summer some more and we got to eat at Joe Vera's with our friends.  Then we headed home for some more time with Janell and Dan.  Of course we got the dress ups out.  We had a really great trip.
