Last Days in Utah

The last 3 weeks we spent in Utah were filled with stress, fun, and excitement.  We moved out of our lovely home on August 20th and put everything we own in a storage unit.  Luckily we have good friends that like to help us move 3 times.  It was a little weird not having any of our things and just living out of suitcases.  All in all it wasn't too bad.

One bummer is that we couldn't enjoy everything from our garden, but we picked a few of our winnings before we left.
It was hard to see our house all in boxes and then totally empty.  Everyone had a great attitude.  We were excited to try something new.

The day we were moving out we had a friend come put in a railing on our staircase so the renters wouldn't have an accident.  It looks really great.

We moved in with Gerrit's parents for about a week and we did some really fun things.  We all went to the Hogle Zoo one day.  It's was Grandpa's first time ever to the zoo!  He loved it.

Looking at the fruit bats in the tree.  Totally crazy!  Also, baby Zuri the elephant.  Of course Chloe still loves elephants.  Delilah kept calling the baby 'Dumbo'

We had a fun get together at Andy and Laura's house.  We ordered pizza and just hung out.  We had a lot of people drop by to say adios to us.  Love our friends.

That weekend Karis and Marty came to Utah with their family.  Marty's little brother Eric got married and we were able to spend all day with them doing wedding stuff.  It was great to see them before we took off.

It was really windy and these sheets kept flying in the wind.
It was totally reminding me of the movie 'IT' when you see the scary clown flashing his face between the sheets.  Of course these girls are way cuter than any clown.

Sunday we had a fun BBQ in the park with some of my oldest Provo friends.  We had so much fun chattin' it up.  I'm so happy everyone got married off before I moved across the country.  Of course I will be sad to not meet Justin and Sunny's little girl when she is born.  I bet she will be so rad.

Obviously we had some trouble taking serious pictures.

Monday we took a car drive to Hobble Creek Canyon.  Dan loves to go for drives and the girls love the canyon.  We had a lot of fun exploring, and throwing rocks in the river.
Our final goodbyes were at a yummy dinner by Kevin and Tiffany.  We have an ongoing joke that Kevin always eats prime rib.  They made a special dinner in our honor of prime rib, potatoes, salad and the most amazing rolls.  It was fun to have all of us there eating together and hanging out.  We stayed super late and watched Anchor Man.  Such a random show to pic, but we laughed a lot.  Miss you guys!

Typical dudes watching YouTube.
Typical Kids making a GIANT mess.
So cute.  We are missing Delilah and Paisley in this pic.
The Gang, with some kids in the back and Alec crying his eyes out.
The next morning we all met at the storage unit to move our stuff another time.  The kids watched a movie in the car while I supervised and the guys did all the heavy lifting.  We rented a 26 ft truck and fill just about half.  Our friends headed out to Florida for school as well drove the truck with a trailer attached to the back.  The trailer had a truck on it, with 2 motorcycles in the back.  I wish I had a picture of that!  Many thanks to Steven and Adam who lugged our stuff around for 5 days.

Let the drive begin!
