Father's Day weekend Danny May our neighbor and friend decided to get baptized. He and his family moved here from Connecticut about the same time we moved from Florida. We just became friends from being neighborly. One evening Danny asked Gerrit if he could help him hang his TV. Gerrit went over and helped him out, when they were done Danny's reply was "so tell me, what's a Mormon." We hadn't mentioned to Danny or his family that we were LDS, but they had heard from other neighbors that we were "Mormon" . Gerrit described out religion and beliefs and Danny and his family decided to take the discussions at our house. For about 3 months they prayed and pondered. Danny went for it on June 14th. He asked Gerrit to baptize him and I gave a few thoughts on Baptism. His family was there to support him and will hopefully consider baptism themselves in the future. The Tuesday after the baptism we headed to the Temple to do baptisms. I hadn't done those since I was a kid. What a fun and special experience to be there with him and Gerrit. The May's are so sweet, and we are so happy for them.
